Pitchfork Review the New Self-Titled Smidley Record

So excited to share this Pitchfork review of Smidley's brand new self-titled record, which came out last Friday, June 2nd on Triple Crown. Smidley is the project of Foxing frontman Conor Murphy, named after his beloved black lab mutt (RIP).

Pitchfork awarded the album a 7.5, declaring that "on his solo debut, the frontman of emo band Foxing offers a mix of bubble-grunge, jangly power-pop, and breezy balladry," and adding that "it manages to be as heavy and compelling as his main group."
