On October 24, DCxPC Live will release Celebration Summer / Wolf-Face – Live at The FEST Split 12" Vinyl.
Captured live at The FEST in Gainesville, Florida, this limited-edition 12” split vinyl pairs two powerful forces from opposite ends of the punk rock spectrum: Celebration Summer and Wolf-Face. Pressed on stunning Summer Moon vinyl and limited to just 200 copies, this release is a raw, unfiltered document of two explosive sets from FEST’s punk-saturated weekend.
Both bands have shared the split’s lead singles: Wolf-Face’s “With or Without Boof” and Celebration Summer’s “Fraud.” The tracks are streaming now on all platforms for any playlist shares.
Celebration Summer’s “Fraud,” recorded live at FEST 21 on October 27, 2023 at Loosey’s Downtown, is a melodic powerhouse in the tradition of Jawbreaker, Samiam, and Hot Water Music. “The meaning of this song can be summed up short and sweet - believe survivors,” the band says. Urgent, cathartic, and heartfelt, the track captures the band’s blend of political conviction and emotional resonance.
Wolf-Face’s “With or Without Boof,” recorded live at FEST 22 on October 25, 2024 at Heartwood Soundstage, is a hilariously biting love letter to frontman Michael J. Wolf’s main squeeze. “She loves me for who I am and encourages me to tell coach and anyone else trying to exploit me to f*ck off,” says Wolf. True to form, the track is feral, fast, and relentlessly fun.
Side A of the release features Celebration Summer, a melodic punk quartet from Northern Virginia formed in 2019. Drawing influence from the emotive grit of Leatherface and the introspective drive of Samiam, their sound merges personal vulnerability with political urgency. With a nod to their D.C. roots—where melody and message have always coexisted—Celebration Summer’s set delivers heartfelt vocals, driving rhythms, and anthemic hooks that feel both nostalgic and newly urgent.
